Welcome!

I hope to be your go-to resource for adventure travels in Canada, we have so much diverse landscape here that it’s really mind boggling. From culture laden cities (that we really won’t discuss) to mountains, forests, lakes, the tundra I’ll discuss some of the top destinations in our homeland.

But first I want to acknowledge that unless you are a member of the First Nations, you are a transplant. There are three main groups of people, the First Nations, Inuit, and the Métis. You will hear no mention of the E- word here.

Off the top of my head here are some of the well-known destinations here:

  • The Rocky Mountains (duh)

They say that the Canadian Rockies are better than the American Rockies and I’m going to have to agree with them. The two most popular spots are Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. If you want hot springs, go to Banff. If you want pristine wilderness and glaciers (yes please!) go to Jasper.

  • The Pacific Northwest

Rugged coastlines? Check. Pristine lakes? Double check. From volcanoes to beaches the PNW will not let you down. Just be prepared to spend an arm and a leg if you want to move here and live. Vancouver is one of the most expensive cities to live in here in Canada.

  • The Canadian Shield

Over on the east end of things the Canadian Shield offers cast regions of ancient rock formations and cottage country (if you’re ritzy). In Ontario Algonquin Provincial Park is well know and in Quebec the Laurentians Mountains offer a plethora of ski resorts and snowmobiling. Also it’s the native home for poutine!

  • The Atlantic Provinces

Prince Edward Island has been a dream of mine for years now. In addition to their proximity to the sea they have the best beef in the country. Don’t tell Alberta I said that. You could also visit Nova Scotia and New Brunswidk and Newfoundland and Labrador. Be alert, sometimes they have a bit of heavy Irish accents so you’ll have to keep your listening ears on!

Happy travels and stay tuned for more nuanced travel advice, elbows up!
